The Washington State Department of Enterprise Services raises the Direct Buy thresholds by $10,000 for state agencies purchasing goods and services, and introduces a new $100,000 option.
The new policy authorizes agencies to Direct Buy goods and services valued at up to $40,000 or up to $50,000 if the business is a Washington small business or a Veteran-Owned Business. Direct Buy does not require public posting or competition.
With three quotes from Washington small or veteran-owned businesses, the agency can spend up to $100,000.
Agencies must use existing DES statewide contracts or DES-approved cooperative agreements unless they cannot justifiably satisfy agency needs as documented by the agency.
