The Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises just launched a new program for Public Works Small Business Enterprises (PWSBE) Certification! If you are a small business owner seeking work on public works contracts, we encourage you to start your application now. An opt-in option is available for businesses that are currently certified with OMWBE.
“Public Works” refers to all work, construction, alteration, repair, or improvement paid for by state and local governments, public universities, and other public organizations. Public works projects include road construction, roof repair, HVAC upgrades, building remodeling, or parking meter installation.
How will I benefit from PWSBE Certification?
- Join the Statewide Small Works Roster for FREE
- Direct contracting for projects under $150,000
- Agencies must use a small business if six or more are available
- Agencies must rotate contract awards to different businesses
- Certification with OMWBE is FREE through June 2025
