Purpose

Our work makes a clear contribution to society and the environment around us. Whether we are building schools to provide inspiring spaces for learning, roads to connect communities or hospitals to care for patients, it all contributes to our purpose – we build for a better society.

Values

  • Care for life—protecting people and the planet
  • Act ethically and transparently—being a role model
  • Be better together—teaming up
  • Commit to customers—having a customer-first mindset

Skanska uses knowledge & foresight to shape the way people live, work, and connect. More than 135 years in the making, we’re one of the world’s largest development and construction companies. In 2023, construction in the U.S. generated $7.1 billion in revenue, and on the West Coast, our active heavy civil portfolio is worth over $5 billion.

Skanska has experience in the successful alternative delivery of transportation projects. We have a strong track record of working closely with our customers and their consultants throughout the preconstruction phases of our projects. The collaboration has allowed us to develop a design and construction plan that is cost effective, reliable and mitigates risk.

In Washington, Skanska has worked with the Washington State Department of Transportation and Sound Transit to build infrastructure construction projects and interchange improvements in the greater Seattle area. Projects include the Lynnwood Link Extension (L300), I-405 Brickyard to SR 527 Improvement, I-5 / SR16 Realignment and Alaskan Way Viaduct – Holgate to King.
