Subcontractor Selection Process for the C1 Building Expansion Preconstruction and Construction Services

Turner Construction intends to select the Exterior Wall Contractor/ Construction Manager for the Port of Seattle C1 Building Expansion Project at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport through the alternative subcontractor selection process, as outlined and authorized in RCW 39.10.385 as modified by Senate Bill 5032. The alternative subcontractor selection process is needed due to the complexity of the exterior wall system, it’s tie-in to the existing building and the proprietary nature of the individual subcontractor’s exterior cladding systems.
A virtual public hearing will be conducted by Turner Construction on July 28, 2021 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. via Microsoft Teams. The public hearing will provide an opportunity for any interested party to submit written and verbal comments regarding the justification for using this selection process.

In accordance with RCW 39.10.385, the evaluation criteria, weight for each criteria, definition of what should be considered specified general conditions and what should be considered fee, and protest procedures will be made available on Turner’s Public Plan Room at the location noted above or by request to c1procurement@tcco.com seven calendar days prior to the public hearing, on July 21, 2021.
