Description: The project will replace the existing Portage Bay Bridge with a seismically stronger structure, extend SR 520’s Transit/HOV system from Montlake to I-5 and the cross-bay bicycle and pedestrian trail over Portage Bay. 

In addition to typical professional highway design and engineering sub-consultant scopes, Construction subcontracting opportunities include: Aggregate supply/trucking, Asphalt & Concrete Paving, Clearing and Grubbing, Concrete Flatwork Demolition, Diving, Drainage, Electrical, Environmental Monitoring, Erosion Control, Excavation/Grading, Fencing, Guardrail, Hazmat abatement, Landscaping, Milling, Metal fabrication, MSE Walls, On-site Trucking, QA/QC Testing, Painting, Reinforcing Bar, Saw cutting, Signage, Striping, Survey, Traffic Control, and Utilities. Supplies and Services, include: Aggregate/Backfill, Bearing pads/Expansion joints, Drainage material, Electrical materials, Erosion Control Supplies, Structural Steel Fabrications, Pile supply, Pipeline Material, Precast Elements, Ready Mix Concrete, and Small Tools and Supplies.

To assist small business subcontractors, suppliers, and service providers  the Design-Builder will divide scopes into smaller, more economical feasible units to increase MSVWBE participation. We will answer questions of small businesses to  facilitate the bidders understanding of the bid specifications and requirements. We will assist MSVWBE firms with delivery schedules, prompt payments, early release of retention and other allowable assistance in order to maximize participation opportunities for Small Businesses in response to our Invitations to Bid.
