Dissecting an RFQ

Dissecting a Request for Quote provides the information and tools to extract the important parts of an RFQ and create useful tools for future RFQ’s and RFP’s.  

You will learn how to:

  •  Read through a Request for Quote (RFQ)
  •  Identify all the important elements needed to be Responsive
  •  Develop a list of Required Deliverables with content

You will gain a deeper understanding of what’s needed to deliver a compliant and responsive proposal in the Government Marketplace.

We will be dissecting an actual RFQ which was issued by the Washington State Department of Transportation.

We will provide several tools to assist you with the proposal process now and in the future. 

This is a great opportunity to learn how to get ready to grow in the government procurement market.

NOTE: This workshop has a pre-requisite of printing and reading through the sample RFQ which will be dissected during this two day workshop.  It typically will take up to 2 hours.  

Writing Successful Proposals

The Government Marketplace is very competitive which makes it even more important to understand how to write a compelling proposal. Long term success in the public sector requires a quality proposal development approach using a repeatable process.

You will learn how to:

  • Review Key Principles of Proposal Development (Bid/No Bid – Deliverables List – Burst)
  • Identify Key Win Themes (e.g., why YOU)
  • Develop Initial Bulleted Outlines
  • Write Proposal Sections
  • Review and Submit Your Proposal

This workshop builds on the concepts provided in the Dissecting an RFQ workshop.  Each student will begin the class with an RFP summary, a bid decision, and a schedule, allowing them to focus solely on the actual writing of the proposal.

This is a great opportunity for established businesses to learn how to get ready to grow in the government procurement market.  

Instructor Matthew Rhinehart, owner of MastPoint has over 20 years of experience developing winning proposals for the government market.  Matthew is ready to share his knowledge of dissecting RFQ’s and how to build your confidence in responding to the next RFQ.
