Factory Vehicle Inspections & Buy America Audits

Whatcom Transportation Authority (WTA) is a Public Transportation Benefit Area (PTBA), defined by RCW Chapter 36.57A, providing transit service throughout Whatcom County, Washington. WTA provides fixed route, paratransit, rural dial-a-ride, on-demand, and vanpool service, as well as fixed route service into neighboring Skagit County.

Additional information about WTA can be found at www.ridewta.com.

Over the next five (5) years, WTA intends to replace at least thirty (30) heavy duty coaches, and forty-seven (47) Paratransit coaches. WTA’s heavy-duty fleet is comprised entirely of Gillig coaches. Paratransit is a mix of Ford El Dorado and Endera, and Chevy Arboc and Starcraft coaches.

WTA is soliciting proposals from qualified vendors to provide on-call Buy America Audits and in-plant vehicle manufacturing inspection services.

Work will be subject to financial assistance from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) grant awards (“FTA Contract”). The awarded contract will therefore also be subject to the terms of WTA’s FTA Contract, and any and all applicable Federal regulations.
